Biographie

Après des études de trompette et de tuba au conservatoire de Bayonne, Adrien Mathonat s’oriente vers des études de chant lyrique. Il rejoint la classe de la soprano Maryse Castets au conservatoire de Bordeaux en 2018. En 2022, Adrien Mathonat rejoint pour deux ans l’Académie de l’Opéra National de Paris. Il interprète durant ces deux années Sénèque dans Le Couronnement de Poppée à l’Opéra de Rennes sous la direction de Damien Guillon, Curio dans Jules César de Haendel et L’Arbre dans L’Enfant et les sortilèges de Ravel à l’Opéra de Paris, Olsen dans Street Scene de Kurt Weil à la MC 93, Colline dans La Bohème au Festival de Sanxay.

 

En 2024-2025, Il Nome della rosa de F.Filidei à la Scala de Milan, Le Prince Gremin dans Eugène Onéguine à l’Opéra de Nancy, Sénèque dans Le Couronnement de Poppée au Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, le Grand Prêtre dans Nabucco de Verdi au Festival de Sanxay.

 

La saison dernière, Adrien Mathonat est Masetto et le Commandeur dans Don Giovanni à l’Opéra National du Capitole de Toulouse, Sarastro et Le Sprecher dans La Flûte enchantée à l’Opéra de Lille, Colline dans La Bohème avec l’Opéra National de Lorraine à l’Opéra de Dijon, au Théâtre de Caen, à l’Opéra de Reims et au Luxembourg, Zuniga dans Carmen à l’Opéra National du Capitole de Toulouse, Sarastro et le Sprecher dans La Flûte enchantée au Festival lyriques de Sanxay.

 

Cette saison 2026-2027, Adrien Mathonat est Raimond dans Lucie de Lamermoor au Grand Théâtre de Genève, Zuniga dans Carmen et Le Requiem de Mozart en version scénique à l’Opéra National de Bordeaux, Fasolt dans Das Rheingold à l’Opéra National du Capitole de Toulouse, Le Commandeur dans Don Giovanni à l’Opéra de Tours, Sénèque dans Le Couronnement de Poppée à l’Opéra National du Capitole de Toulouse.

 

Il donne également un récital avec la mezzo-soprano Marie-Andrée Bouchard-Lesieur à l’Opéra National du Capitole de Toulouse.

2026-2027

 

After studying the trumpet and tuba at the Bayonne Conservatoire, Adrien Mathonat turned his attention to opera singing. He joined soprano Maryse Castets’ class at the Bordeaux Conservatoire in 2018. In 2022, Adrien Mathonat joined the Paris National Opera Academy for two years. During these two years, he performed the role of Seneca in L’Incorronazione di Poppea at the Rennes Opera under the baton of Damien Guillon; Curio in Handel’s Julius Caesar and The Tree in Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges at the Paris Opera; Olsen in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene at the MC 93; and Colline in La Bohème at the Sanxay Festival.

 

In 2024–2025, he appears in F. Filidei’s Il Nome della rosa at La Scala in Milan; as Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin at the Opéra de Nancy; as Seneca in L’Incoronazione di Poppea at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées; and as the High Priest in Verdi’s Nabucco at the Sanxay Festival.

 

Last season, Adrien Mathonat sang Masetto and the Commendatore in Don Giovanni at the Opéra National du Capitole in Toulouse, Sarastro and the Sprecher in The Magic Flute at the Lille Opera, Colline in La Bohème with the Opéra National de Lorraine at the Opéra de Dijon, the Théâtre de Caen, the Opéra de Reims and in Luxembourg; Zuniga in Carmen at the Opéra National du Capitole in Toulouse; and Sarastro and the Sprecher in The Magic Flute at the Sanxay Opera Festival.
